| The Japanese
Hill and Pond Garden chock full of fish, turtles and waterfowl. The artificially
created landscape surrounding the pond was done in a way so as to emulate
the landscape of Japan. Designed by Takeo Shiota, it first opened to the
public in 1915. In the photo above on the right is a turtle which swims
along within the pond itself. |
It is just one of
many animals to be found within and atop the waters themselves. From many
many species of birds to fish, reptiles and even insects. Sometimes one
only needs to sit back and enjoy nature's beauty and yet other times one
needs to have a quick eye to be sure as to not miss out on what's happening
along and atop the water's edge and surface. Either way it's always a treat
to behold this beauty! |
