Brooklyn Bridge, NYC Photos Gallery - Page 1
Photo of the Manhattan Bridge from below the Brooklyn Bridge. Brooklyn Bridge photo with Brooklyn in the background.

Built by yet another designer like the great Othmar Ammann, the Brooklyn Bridge was designed by John Augustus Roebling whose company and son followed in his footsteps to continue his greatness. Opened on May 24, 1883, the Brooklyn Bridge much like all of New York City's other huge bridges was the greatest and longest of its kind at the time of completion.

It has a length of 6,016 feet and has 6 traffic lanes along with the pedestrian promenade in the middle which would stun any tourist or native New Yorker! Both Photos above were taken from south of the bridge. Actually, you can see the Manhattan Bridge in the background of both photos.

Photos taken from the Manhattan side of the East River. On the other side of course is the Borough of Brooklyn. Walking across this bridge takes maybe 15-20 minutes, much like the time it takes to traverse the other East River Bridges? But the sights are definitely spectacular! Do it! NYCPG means it! CROSS THIS BRIDGE IF YOU DO ANYTHING DURING YOUR TRIP IN NYC! Heck, there are plenty of natives here whom probably haven't even crossed it. 'and if you haven't, then again, cross it! It's quite a stress reliever!
