In the photo above which was also converted into an HDR image a passerby just happened to wander into my frame. To be honest I was pretty glad he did since I felt it added to the composition. To note, this here is the western most tower (one of two) closest to the borough of Brooklyn. Mind you, both Stone Towers reach 276½ feet above the water and 159 feet above the roadway which is not visible here. The photograph below, again taken with a S1020 wide angle lens shows us one of the towers, the cables for this suspension bridge as well as the Manhattan Bridge out yonder. Notice the bicyclist riding along as well as the jogger a bit behind? |

As with so many of our city's bridges the Brooklyn Bridge with its length of 1.13 miles was the longest bridge in the world.
Mind you, the cables of this structure have a total length of approximately 3600 miles. Amazing aye?
So how can one not be enticed by this beauty? From its impressive statistics to its beautiful appearance, it IS quite the sight to behold and an even better adventure when it comes to crossing it on foot.
