sign at Pelham Bay Park. With 2,765 acres of woodland, Pelham Bay Park
is New York City's largest. It is located at the northern end of the borough
of the Bronx. The bodies of water which surround this all too natural park
is the Long Island Sound, Eastchester Bay, Hutchinson River, a lagoon,
Turtle Grove and saltwater marshes throughout. |
Photo above to the
right is of the draw bridge at Shore Road which leads one across the Hutchinson
River and onto the rest of the park. By train the park can be reached via
the number 6 el line. |
