Snow at Prospect Park, Brooklyn, NYC Photos Gallery - Page 1
Photo of a path along the snow covered expanse of Prospect Park, Brooklyn. A lamp and tree in the mid winter day.
Two days past NYC's 2002 Christmas Day Snow Storm and Prospect Park in Brooklyn is just totally covered in snow. Created by the same master of New York City's Central Park, Frederick Law Olmsted alongside Calvert Vaux designed this wonderful park. In some respects it is very similar to that green oasis of Manhattan Island. 'But in many other ways, there are notable differences. One of which is the vast expanse of hilly ground seen here in these photos. On a wintry snow day, they make great fun for the kid in all of us.

There are some great views to behold in this park on any day of any seasaon. Kids of all ages sliding down this snowy hill.
Originally wetland and forest land, this park is made up of 526 acres. Within and around the park are such wonderful sights such as the Prospect Park Zoo, Brooklyn Botanic Garden, Brooklyn Museum and many other ways to enjoy a seasonal day anytime of year through its ponds, bridges, parkland, trees and wildlife. Kids of all ages can be seen along the many sloping hills of Prospect Park sliding down with their sleighs and home made sleds in tow. Really, I do mean of all ages! Young and old, they were all here. This photo shows you only one of many snow covered slopes.
