A squirrel caught off guard, or does he really love the camera and attention? Eye to eye with this one squirrel
One Autumn day in our own Union Square Park I walked into the park with a cup of coffee just looking to kill time. Within minutes I had a horde of Squirrels gathering around me and checking out my cup of java sitting on the ground and practically begging for something. After searching through my backpack for old shelled peanuts I'd had, I brought them out and started feeding them.
This is the one and only time I ever walked away a slight bit nervous. Why? Well, I had literally a dozen squirrels surrounding me and some actually climbed up my sweater to face me eye to eye. Too bad I didn't have anyone with me carrying a camera since they'd've made wonderful photos! But I'll never forget how beautiful these creatures are up close. They're gorgeous animals with their hazelnut eyes and furry little bodies.

Despite the snow, many squirrels are out there in the cold. Too bad you've gotta be fast with the photos, otherwise, this one pic would've turned out better.
Here above are two photos taken on the day following our Christmas snowfall.
The pics were taken along Pelham Parkway in the Bronx.
Surprisingly there were many squirrels out and about despite the cold air and the snow.
