the Naumberg Bandshell where concerts still take place in the Summer, the
wonderful new benches, the area where skaters love to hang out around,
the 72nd St. road and beyond this all is of course Bethesda Terrace and
Fountain. Stone pictured above on the right is by the statue of William Shakespeare. It reads: Erected by citizens of New York April 23, 1864. The three hundredth anniversay of the birth of Shakespeare. |
