Fitz Greene Halleck (1790-1867),
an American poet moved to New York City when he was 21. He enjoyed literature as a hobby and helped American poet Joseph Rodman Drake write a series of social and political satires called The Croakers (1819). Halleck is also known for his poem “Fanny” (1819), a social satire.
Walter Scott (1771-1832), was a Scottish novelist and poet. He was one of the most prominent figures in English romanticism.

Robert Burns (1759-96), was a Scottish poet and writer of traditional Scottish folk songs.

Columbus (1451-1506), European Explorer of the Americas whose letters were included in Cosmographiae introductio which was a collection of documents describing European Explorers' descriptions of early America.
