Verrazano Bridge, NYC Photos Gallery - Page 1
Trees line the waterfront at the foot of the Verrazano Bridge. Photo above was taken from Shore Promenade which stretches south and north of the Verrazano Bridge.
Located at the southern most end of the Borough of Brooklyn in the Bay Ridge section is the beautiful Verrazano Narrows Bridge. Named after the explorer, Giovanni da Verrazano who was the first European navigator to enter the Hudson and New York Bay. This has to be the most attractive of all the bridges which connect to the city of New York. But that's only my opinion. Some may favor any one of our other great bridges. Photos here were taken on September 11, 2002 which turned out to be quite a gorgeous day here.

The sun shines beyond the Verrazano Bridge. Photo taken from south of the Verrazano Bridge.
Photographed above is Staten Island just across the Verrazano Bridge. The bridge itself with a total length of over 2 miles was once the longest in the world and still ranks among the top ten. Engineered by Othmar H. Ammann who was also responsible for some of NYC's other bridges, the Verrazano carries about a fifth of a million vehicles on any given day.
