One unattractive feature of this bridge is the mesh fencing which covers your view. In the photo above one can see the East River, East River Park located below the bridge and way beyond, the Empire State Building. As we take a break along the bridge's stretch, we photograph the train tracks below as well as the car carrying road beyond. It might be hard for you to see, but that red fencing you see is the other path on the southern side of the bridge.

As mentioned previously, you'll get quite an eyeful of the Williamsburg's skeletal (girders) structure.
Note that the towers of the Williamsburg bridge are 350 feet in height.
