This year's 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular went on and out with a bang! It was the first year in quite some time that there were fireworks in the lower Manhattan area by South Street Seaport. Of course the regular fireworks took place as well in the midtown area. Altogether, tens of thousands showed up to partake in this nation's Independence Day celebrations. Photos above were taken from just below the FDR about a block south of the South Street Seaport.
Despite the putrid, steamy hot weather, and boy was it hot!, we had a blast! So if you didn't join us this year, how about next year? A Macy's tradition in NYC enjoyed by all.
