New York City's 4th? or is it the 5th Storm of the season? Well, we've
lost count since it's become such a regular thing here on the eastern
coast of the U.S. this season. Beginning with our first major storm in
late Autumn of 2002 and continuing on through to this huge blockbuster
of a storm New York City's folks make the best of just about anything.
Give us 20 or so inches of that white stuff and what do we do? Head out
to the park with our masks and ski gear in tow. There were maybe hundreds
inside of Central Park geared up for cross country skiing as there were
kids young and old dragging their sleighs and such behind them in that
quest for a good looking slope. Yours truly even made it across the park
single handedly carrying a huge umbrella (so large it was fitting for
the beach) in one hand and a camera in the other. Unfortunately the gusts
were so strong and the snow fall so heavy that it took about an hour to
cross Central Park on foot. 'And well, hehe, eventually those powerful
winds just about destroyed my umbrella.
Nonetheless, this may very well not be the last big storm
for us. Heck, there've been years when the snow came down in Spring. Wait,
didn't our first snow storm last year come before winter even arrived?
Whatever happens, us New Yorkers are ready for it. | There's also the following pages:
