This series of photo pages focuses on the Plaza itself which spans from 48th Street to 51st Street and found in between 5th Avenue and 6th (Avenue of the Americas) Avenue. One is able to stroll along the streets, or rather the pavement, to view the outdoor plaza itself as well as the many shops to found here. Of course we'd be selling it short if we did not mention the underground network of passages which'll lead you along.
If one thing is certain amongst others then it is that Rockefeller is considered to be the Christmas Capital of the World. What with the Rockettes and the Christmas Spectacular which takes place at Radio City Hall every Yuletide Season as well as the Christmas tree, its lighting and the skating rink opened to all during the Winter months.
The first photo above features a scene in
midday just prior to an oncoming rain storm. We're standing close to
58th Street looking north. Next up is a photograph of Studio 1A where
every weekday morning the NBC Today Show takes place along with those
great Summer Concerts at the Plaza.
Last but not least are two pics featuring the international flags which
adorn the sides of the rink.
