This one photograph gives you a look at the timeline of events following the September 11, 2001 attacks.

Providing Sanctuary is the title of this display found within St. Paul's Chapel.

There are displays within its doors commemorating the events of 911, the victims and our strength in the face of terror.

The best way to describe St. Paul's Chapel and its important existence in the days following 911 is to quote from their pamphlet which is freely given to anyone who ventures within its doors:

In the weeks and months following September 11th, an extraordinary volunteer ministry emerged at St. Paul's Chapel. Thousands of people from different backgrounds and faiths came together to provide physical, spiritual, and emotional care to the rescue and recover workers at Ground Zero.

In the midst of tragedy and chaos, this ministry became a symbol of the power of faith and resiliency of the human spirit.
