Ice Skating at NYC's Rinks Photos - Pics in New York City 2002 - Page 2
Photo taken during the first week of the Rockefeller Rink's opening View from within Rockefeller Concourse level through the window.
Located at Rockefeller Plaza in NYC between 49th and 50th Streets and between 5th and 6th Avenues is the Rink. Opened from October to April this particular spot attracts thousands if not millions every year. Not only because of it's great locale, its scenic vantage point with the rest of the Rockefeller Center buildings surrounding it, but also because of all the great Christmas time decorations which adorn the trees, plant life, center and elsewhere within this area. Of course there's also the Christmas Tree. The lighting of which is an annual event watched the country over on television. With stars performing and other celebrities taking part in the festivity, it's an event not to be missed. It's been said somewhere that Rockefeller Center is the "unofficial Christmas Capital of America". Gee, they're probably right.

Skating, Sliding and gliding and some falling as well at the Rink. Another ground level view of the skating at the Rink at Rockefeller.
Don't feel bad about not being able to skate with everyone else down below.
It's just as much fun to watch from any one of the four sides
as it is to partake in the sliding and gliding, and in my case the falling!
