Here is the Grumman F-11 Tiger (long nose) a Carrier-Based Day Fighter. The Tiger was the first supersonic aircraft to operate from the USS Intrepid. Her design evolved out of the Korean War and the need for fighters that possessed superior combat performance to beat the Russian Mig 15. Bell UH-1M Huey, US Navy Utility, General Purpose Helicopter.
Part of the "brown water navy", these soldiers fought in the backwaters and swamps with these helicopters. They also ran the gauntlet of Viet Cong ambushes, and rescued trapped soldiers and civilians as well as intercepted enemy junks loaded with weapons and supplies. It's an aircraft which is quite impressive up close.

McDonnell F3-B Demon - Carrier-based Fighter. Designed and built by the McDonnel Aircraft Corporation (later to become McDonnell Douglas), St. Louis, Missouri. The Demon was the first Navy jet which was comparable in all respects to its land-based contemporaries. It was a major design and evolution link to McDonnell's phenomenal F-4 Phantom.

Ordered in 1949, this swept wing fighter made its first flight on August 7, 1951...Missile armed versions of the Demon operated off of the USS Intrepid during 1958, assigned to Fighter Squadron VF-41 until they were replaced by Grumman F-11 Tigers the following year.

Lockheed A-12 Blackbird (The World's Fastest Airplane) Initially flown in 1962, the world's first Mach 3 cruise aircraft had been designed, constructed and flight tested in total secrecy.

Lockheed's Blackbird epitomizes America's leadership role in aerospace technology. The plane possesses many highly innovative designs and concepts, created at Lockheed's famous "Skunk Works." Blackbirds were able to cruise at very high speeds for prolonged periods, while performing sensitive reconnaissance missions at record altitudes. The all-titanium, aero-dynamically advanced, chined-delta air-frame was covered with a special radar signature-lowering "iron ball" black paint.
