Riverside Park , NYC Photos Gallery - Page 1
Photo of one of the tunnels at NYC 's Riverside Park. The tunnel at 72nd Street, NYC.
Here is a photo of the southernmost entrance to Riverside Park. Located on the Upper West Side of Manhattan this beautiful stretch of parkland and waterfront spans from 72nd Street to as far north as the 160s or beyond? Quite unclear since even the official NYC Parks and Recreation Site isn't exactly clear on this. Designed by Frederick Law Olmstead and later revamped by NYC Parks Commissioner Robert Moses this park is a treat for the athletes, dog walkers and the entire family.

Here we are inside of the tunnel itself. The stairs leading into the park itself at 72nd Street. Not all entrances to the park resemble this.
Inside the one of a number of short tunnels leading to the park and on to the stairs to the greenery below. You'll find the park easily accesible from many points along Riveside Drive. It's nestled against the Hudson River with New Jersey just across the waters. Between the outer edge by the waters and the rest of park green is the West Side Highway. Take a walk through this park on any day and you'll find some interesting sights along the way.
